Tempura Making Experience in Gion - Gion Imafuku
Learn to make tempura the way Kyoto chefs do - your own stove, your own fryer, your own pace.
Step into a working restaurant kitchen in Gion for a hands-on tempura lesson led by a professional chef. Unlike a shared demo, every guest gets their own stove and deep fryer, so there's no waiting your turn and no crowding around one pan. You'll work through eight ingredients, mostly sourced from Kyoto, frying at your own pace - and the portions are generous enough to leave you genuinely full.

There are three courses for this workshop tour and gold-leaf craft experience, each held on fixed days and times. Please choose a course and confirm the date and time before booking. (Note: only one course and one date/time can be selected per booking.)
- A. "Workshop Tour" (¥11,000) - Every Wednesday & Friday, 1:00-2:00 PMA 1-hour course where you'll see actual finished pieces, the workshop itself, and the kimono-making process.
- B. "Workshop Tour + Gold-Leaf Craft Experience" (¥27,500) - Every Monday & Thursday, 10:00 AM-12:00 PMA 2-hour course that includes everything in the Workshop Tour, plus creating your own postcard-sized artwork using gold powder and other materials to take home.
- C. "Workshop Tour + Artisan Experience" (¥44,000) - Every Tuesday & Thursday, 4:00-6:00 PM, and every Saturday, 1:00-3:00 PMA 2-hour course that includes everything in the Workshop Tour, plus hands-on experience dyeing 100% silk kimono fabric, applying traditional komon stencil patterns, and adding gold leaf - taking you through the process from initial preparation to finishing.
